Job Summary

Linek Plumbing Company is seeking a highly dependable, hands-on Operations & Field Support Manager to replace a long-tenured team member who is retiring. This role is a true “Swiss Army knife” position. You’ll be responsible for keeping our plumbers productive by managing the warehouse, organizing tools and assisting with job site logistics.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse & Inventory Management:

• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked warehouse
• Receive, organize, and stage plumbing materials, tools, and equipment
• Track commonly used parts and notify management when reordering is needed
• Prepare materials and equipment for upcoming jobs
• Assist with tool tracking, maintenance, and basic repairs

Field Support:

• Deliver materials, tools, and equipment to job sites as needed
• Pick up parts from supply houses and vendors
• Respond to urgent needs during the workday to keep jobs moving

Vehicles & Equipment:

• Help maintain company vehicles (cleanliness, basic upkeep coordination)
• Load and unload trucks as needed
• Assist with organization and material storage

General Operations Support:

• Serve as a go-to support person for plumbers, laborers, project managers, and office staff
• Help with miscellaneous tasks as they arise—no two days are the same
• Support special projects, shop improvements, and operational initiatives

Requirements:

• Strong work ethic and reliability (showing up and following through matters here)
• Comfortable with periodic physical labor and working in varied conditions
• Mechanically inclined; experience with tools, equipment, or trades is a plus
•  Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to lift 50–100 lbs regularly
• Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage changing priorities
• Comfortable interacting with plumbers, vendors, and management
• Plumbing, construction, warehouse, or field operations experience preferred

Position Overview:

We are growing and seeking to add a skilled and experienced Plumbing Estimator / Project Manager to our team!  This role will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost of plumbing projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing/piping estimating, excellent analytical skills, and a keen eye for detail.  This role requires someone who can effectively communicate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:

• Initiate and maintain relationships with owners, customers design professionals, suppliers, subcontractors and others related to the project.
• Analyze blueprints, schematics, specifications and other construction documentation to prepare material, equipment, subcontractors and labor cost.
• Prepare estimates and written quotes that meet project requirements regarding materials, labor, subcontractors, equipment and schedule.
• Perform a thorough contract review for every project. Negotiate contract as necessary to comply with estimated scope of work.
• Ability to develop clear and detailed project scope and timeline with customers and general contractors
• Create schematic designs as needed for project estimates and construction.
• Prepare RFI’s, subcontracts, purchase orders and proposals using computer generated construction management software.
• Develop cost saving strategies during various phases of the project
• Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, subcontractors and superintendent on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
• Prepare and maintain all required project documentation
• Manage and forecast projects for cost, profitability and schedule adherence.
• Maintain detailed and orderly estimate and project files.
• Manage project close-out
• Ensure that supervision is results oriented and promote the company’s culture in particular, regarding safety, quality and customer service to ensure profitability.
• Maintain a presence in the office and serve as an example of technical support, ethical and professional behavior for employees.
• Support continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a plumbing/piping estimator
• Master Plumber license is preferred, but not required.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications, including architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and civil.
• Solid knowledge of the Uniform and International Plumbing Codes
• Design/build experience
• Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and installation methods; ability to properly size and layout plumbing systems.
• Ability to identify and assess requirements of a project when little information is provided.
• Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail.
• Advanced proficiency in estimating software, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Self-motivated
• Must have a safe driving record and valid driver’s license
